NETNC is partnering with City of Tacoma Solid Waste to offer the 6th annual Community Clean-up Day on Saturday, June 17th, 10am-1:45pm. It will be held at Meeker Middle School’s upper/east parking lot (enter from Nassau Ave. NE). NE Tacoma residents can drop off junk and reusables, including appliances, metal, tires (on and off-rim), furniture, general junk, etc. Hazardous waste (fluorescent lamps, oil-based paint, pesticides, etc.) must be held for the annual early-August drop-off. Residents will receive postcards before the Clean-Up Day reminding them of the date/time and location and stuff they can and can’t drop off.
These events rely on volunteers to help unload vehicles, direct traffic, and to take care of the other volunteers. Please contact the event’s manager, Jim Philp (253.952.0509, firstname.lastname@example.org) to volunteer to help. Able-bodied folks 16 and older would be most welcome. There are light duties as well as heavier work, so please step forward.
