The Northwood Area, labled 1 on the map, includes 545.6 acres.  The majority landuse in Northwood consists of Commercial/Industrial with about 250.1 acres of the total area.  Most of the commercial/industrial areas lie on either side of SR 509 (Marine View Drive)  which is the red line on the map.  Single family residential makes up 147.3 acres.  The housing stock in this area consists of moderate prices homes with the median house accessed at $131,400 and the median lot accessed at $108,000.  There are just over 500 single family homes in the Northwood Area.  Total accessed value of the single family housing is $70, 555,700 for improvements and an additional $31,478,900 in land value.  Vacant land makes up 130.3 acres.  The large percentage of vacant land consists of steep ravines that channel intermittent streams from the residential areas of the uplands down to Puget Sound.  There are 10.7 acres in the utilities/infrastructure category and about 7.3 acres in the other residential landuse.
